Our History

Sleepy Hollow is a charming section of historic Plainfield where homes rest on hilltops, or may be nestled in knolls… on meandering hill-shaded roads… each home as architecturally unique as the next, and singular in design.

Perhaps, it is those customized curiosities made for the original owners that attract us to an individual home. But, it is Sleepy Hollow itself which brings us together as neighbors.

a 1931 advertisement in the Courier-News by the developer, Ernest Hand, captures what makes it so special. “Sleepy Hollow - Where one’s home and neighbors are all you’ve dreamed and planned for…”

Sleepy Hollow Neighbors was created so that we can meet through social events and gatherings, and come together as a community of friends.

Our Mission & Goals
